White Rose -- White 17oz Stainless Steel Water Bottle

Originally created as a course assignment, this colored pencil piece is a testament to the magic of layering. Though it appears soft and monochromatic, the rose is actually built with reds, yellows, blues, and greens—only a touch of white was used to refine its delicate petals. Similarly, the deep background relies on blended colors, with just a hint of black.

This piece is part of Alan Yost’s classical art series, combining white chalk art, figurative drawing, and museum-quality prints to evoke timeless elegance.

A fun bonus? This piece earned me a coveted prize—new art supplies, including more of the prized Stonehenge paper favored by my instructor. Proof that sometimes, the simplest palettes create the most striking results.
