Cathedrals of Salamanca

The twin cathedrals of Salamanca, a historical anomaly in the world of cathedrals, embody the city’s essence. Their intricate details and majestic spires tell stories of centuries past, while the golden sandstone buildings bathe everything in a warm, honeyed glow. This historic gem, with its timeless beauty and rich history, inspired each line of my drawing.  
Spending seven months in Salamanca was a treat like no other. It’s a sort of hidden gem of Spain. Only half an hour from Portugal and a day trip to several other important cities, I really got a flavor of the diversity of the Iberian Peninsula. But the city of Salamanca is a landmark in its own right. For one thing, it boasts the third oldest university in Europe! It’s also the city in which I was introduced to Chocolateria Valor, a favorite place of mine for enjoying churros con chocolate.
