Perched on the cliffs of Italy’s Amalfi Coast, Positano is a place where pastel-hued houses cascade toward the sea, narrow streets wind through history, and every view feels like a postcard. In this graphite and colored pencil drawing, I sought to capture its charm—the vibrant architecture, sun-drenched beaches, and effortless beauty.

This piece is part of Alan Yost’s classical art series, combining white chalk art, figurative drawing, and museum-quality prints to evoke timeless elegance.

Unlike many of my works, this one was drawn before I ever visited. My fascination began through photos—and, if I’m honest, the movie Under the Tuscan Sun. For years, I’ve dreamed of calling this place home, even for a season. Imagine the inspiration of living where nature and human creativity blend so seamlessly.
