Mercy -- White 17oz Stainless Steel Water Bottle

This multimedia piece was created as a pro bono commission for a church in Tacoma, Washington, a community known for its deep commitment to diversity, justice, and peace. Inspired by their mission, I sought to give form to Mercy itself—an unseen force made visible, leading the forgotten and unheard out of darkness and into the light of dignity and freedom.

This piece is part of Alan Yost’s classical art series, combining white chalk art, figurative drawing, and museum-quality prints to evoke timeless elegance.

The poor, the elderly, the imprisoned—those too often left in the shadows—find a guiding hand in Mercy, who lifts them from oppression and into the joy of liberation. Through texture, contrast, and movement, this piece reflects not just an idea, but a call to action: to see, to uplift, and to extend compassion to those in need.

I hope this work serves as a reminder that mercy is not just a virtue—it is a path forward.
