The Parthenon - SE (10 cards/env) - EU orders

Description

Rendered in graphite on toned paper, this drawing captures the ancient majesty of the Parthenon, with its iconic Doric columns and detailed marble sculptures. Built between 447-432 BC and dedicated to Athena, it has stood the test of time, serving as a temple, church, and mosque. Each pencil stroke reflects the awe inspired by this architectural marvel.

This piece is part of Alan Yost’s classical art series, combining white chalk art, figurative drawing, and museum-quality prints to evoke timeless elegance.

I love working on paper I’ve toned myself, using the eraser as a tool to bring out highlights—especially to show the Parthenon’s sunlit glory.

This is one of the few pieces I’ve drawn from inspiration I haven’t personally experienced... yet! A big thanks to my friends Julie and Dan, whose reference photos from their trip to Greece sparked this creation and moved Greece to the top of my must-see list.
