White Rose

White Rose (Original: Colored pencil on Stonehenge paper, 2010)

This piece was a course assignment during an online colored pencil series I took. We were given the photograph and had to render it using minimal white and black pencils. Believe it or not, the vast majority of color here consists of red, yellow, blue, and green. The only white pencil used in the rose and the only black pencil on the background were used to blend the other colors.

One doesn't like to brag, but this work won me a gift of some much coveted art materials, including more Stonehenge paper, the paper of choice of my colored pencil instructor.
